Frequently asked questions
At Saving Lives RGV BR, it all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion to make a difference. As a non-profit, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence in São Paulo and across Brazil. We aim to clarify common questions and ensure transparency in our operations.
What are the most common questions people ask you about your community projects, food donations, or emergency services?
How does the program work to break the cycles of poverty? Our programs are designed with sustainability and long-term impact in mind, focusing on education, skill development, and community empowerment to address the root causes of poverty.
We provided tools and opportunities for volunteers. When people are able to contribute working hours they reduce the need for paid labor on community projects. Cleaning, painting and renovation are also transferable skills that can be gained for job applications and their work can be shown to others creating community pride.
How can I be sure my donation reaches those in need?
We work directly with local partners and communities to ensure that all food donations, clothing, and funds for emergency services, such as electric bills or water accounts, are directly distributed from program leadership. Funds are paid to the intended recipient's account holder with regular reporting and oversight. Our accounts are audited and verified. Our Office is located at Rua Jacarei, 75. Vila Santa Maria, Poa - SP. Brazil 08563-610
All Recipients are required to register with our office and are only permitted to request funding once each year for utility services. They must provide account numbers and a copy of the shut off notice.
Can I choose specific projects to support?
Yes, on our website, you can often select specific projects or areas of need to direct your donations, whether it's food for a family, cleaning supplies, or support for emergency health services. Visit our "Ways to give" page for more information.
If you want to arrange a different donation amount you can do so by emailing us.
What types of emergency services do you provide?
We provide essential emergency services. This includes food, clothing, and other critical needs to prevent families from experiencing further hardship. These services are provided on a case-by-case basis after assessment.
Food Services can be received 6 times a year through our program. The governor of São Paulo, Brazil, provides us with boxes to distribute every 3 months. These are separate from our food pantry; however, we do include cleaning supplies in conjunction with these boxes as needed.
What key information do you want visitors to always know about how Saving Lives RGV BR works or what to expect?
The privacy of recipients is maintained to preserve dignity for receiving food and services, but their volunteer efforts are highly praised, encouraging more action and community engagement.
* Dignity of our recipients is important to us.
Are there any common worries or misunderstandings that you'd like to clear up for people visiting your site?
Are we a real charity? Yes! Our group is licensed directly through AME Poa, São Paulo, Brazil. We have an international board of directors and accounting conservators in the United States who monitor and audit our funds, as well as a Brazilian legal team that oversees our processes.

There are many ways to get involved! You can purchase food for a family, donate clothing, make monetary donations, or volunteer your time. Visit our "Donations" page or "Our programs" page to learn more.
